Nowadays, a
good environment, healthy and breathable, is a rare jewel. Thus, it is our duty
to lead students to improve the environment in which they live, taking care of
the air, land and water in order to preserve what is good, to put an end to
what is bad and to improve what is sick.
Professors
and students will work on two distinct fronts:
1 - At home
and at school: reduce plastic and opt for other solutions.
At home :
to try to end up definitely using disposable plastic materials.
At school:
to start campaigns to change the ways of life of students by contacted
government and private organizations to discuss this issue for the school
community.
2 - Get in
touch with the Lisbon city council and Loures city council ( wish is really our
city) to understand what is being done in relation to the pollution and
preservation of the Tejo and Trancão rivers. ( trancão is a small river near
the school ).
To seek
non-governmental organizations dedicated to the preservation of nature and
especially of river pollution and to publicize their activities in conferences
at school.
To visit the incinerator nearby, to know what it
burns there, what quantities and where they come from.
To present the results at the school community
accompanied by someone from the company.
Ask the Loures
city council to see the project to
receive the Pope in 2022 (which is very close to the school and next to the Tejo
and trancão rivers ), and to see if the
sustainability of rivers and surrounding nature is being preserved.
